And that was the weekend

It was pretty crowded in my one bedroom abode this weekend. In addition to Ben and Emily we had Samson, the kids' one year old Schnoodle (Schnauzer/Poodle). Aside from the fact that Samson did battle with and defeated a number of Ben's Star Wars action figures and did battle with and defeated my blinds, he was otherwise perfect. Of course every time Samson needed to do what dogs do we had to up and down 3 flights of stairs.

Saturday we took Samson to a big dog park here in Plano and found ourselves in the middle of a French Bulldog convention. Now those are weird looking animals. They look like they're grinning all the time, are completely hyper and breathe in an unusual gargling way.

I took the kids to church this morning. I got ready in the bathroom and upon exiting Emily announced, "Daddy you look very hamp-sun." Awesome, made my morning anyway.
After church we proceeded to our favorite pizza place, Sal's in Plano. The waitress took our order and was no more than 2 feet away from the table when Emily (sans tact or volume control) asked, "Do you think that lady wanted to make pizzas when she 'growed' up?" There wasn't quite enough room to crawl under the table, i checked.

So it's that time on a Sunday. I'm exhausted. I don't wear my usual earplugs (very light sleeper) when the kids are here and Mr. Lunesta (very good sleep aid) is definitely out of the question. So my mind starts to race and there goes the night.

Exhausted but otherwise very happy having spent the weekend with my 2 favorite people (and their pooch).

  1. When Selena was about Emily's age we went out to eat at Le Peep in Plano after church. It was crowded and service was slower than usual, but not bad. After 15 minutes of us not getting our food, Selena yells "I HATE THIS PLACE!" at the top of her lungs. The people around us laughed, but we were less than proud.
